African Union: Commission to build the capacity of the Independent Electoral Commission of the Republic of Cote d’Ivoire


7 July 2015 – As part of efforts by the African Union Commission to enhance the capacity of election management bodies in African Union Member States in accordance with the African Charter on Democracy, Elections and Governance, the Department of Political Affairs through the Democracy and Electoral Assistance Unit (DEAU) will provide training for the Independent Electoral Commission, of the Republic of Cote d’Ivoire.

The Building Resources for Democracy, Governance and Elections (BRIDGE) Trainings will take place in Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire from 07 to 17 July 2015 on the 25 modules of BRIDGE Curriculum. The training is part of the mandate of the African Union to provide technical support to Member States in order to consolidate democracy on the continent. The training which uses the BRIDGE curriculum is delivered by international accredited facilitators.

The training programme in Cote d’Ivoire is part of a series of capacity building training programs by the DEAU for African Union Member States in year 2015.
